Home of the Remarkable Ghost Horses

Ghost Horse Prairie Ranch is located near the abandoned ghost town of Valentine, Montana, roughly in the center of the state. The ranch is surrounded by pine buttes, wind-swept rock formations, fields of sage, and various species of grasses. The Ghost Horses, originally from eastern Kentucky, thrive on the nutritious crested wheat grass of the prairie. Mule deer, White tail deer, elk, coyotes, badgers, and antelope share the countryside with the Mountain Horses.

Ghost Horse Prairie Ranch is in Central Montana

The ranch currently supports fifteen horses including our two breeding stallions, Ellevar's Ivory Steed and Achelon's Bay Moon. We also have nine mares, three fillies, and one young colt. Most of the Ghost Horses are registered with the Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse Association. They are also eligible for registration with the Mountain Pleasure Horse Association.
